We collect as little as the service needs, and we never store anyone's raw IP address. This page explains what we keep and why.
When you create a code
We store the destination, name, design settings and a daily hash of your IP address (it cannot be turned back into the address) to prevent spam. Codes created without an account have a secret management link; anyone holding that link can edit the code, so keep it private.
When someone scans a code
The landing page records anonymous statistics: time, country (from Cloudflare), device type, operating system, browser, language and referring domain. We keep only a daily hash of the IP address and user agent, enough to count "the same person on the same day" and nothing that identifies an individual. Code owners see these statistics in aggregate, never per person.
Advertising
Landing pages and articles show ads from Google AdSense, which may set cookies under Google's policy. You can adjust ad settings with Google. The home page, tools and dashboard carry no ads.
Uploaded files
Files live on our servers and are reachable only through the code's link. We do not look inside files except for automated virus scanning and reviews triggered by a report.
Accounts
We store your email and a hashed password. The email is used to verify the account, reset the password and send important notices about your codes. There is no newsletter.
Cookies
We use a cookie to remember your language and a session cookie for members. We set no tracking cookies of our own.
Retention and your rights
Individual scan records are kept for at most 13 months, after which only daily totals remain. You can ask us to delete a code, an account or your data at [email protected]; we act within 30 days.
Providers we rely on
Cloudflare (network and protection), Google AdSense (advertising), Google Safe Browsing (destination checks) and an email provider for system messages. Each receives only the data its task requires.
