Which type should I use?
Retail products worldwide use EAN-13 (a 13-digit number issued by GS1) or UPC-A in North America. For internal use in a shop or warehouse, CODE128 encodes any character and is shorter than CODE39. ITF-14 goes on shipping cartons.
Printed but will not scan
Make the thinnest bar at least 0.25 mm wide, keep white margins on both sides, print dark on light, and give printers the SVG instead of a scaled PNG.
